Phone Books Accepted March 7 – May 9
Amarillo, TX – The new Amarillo YP Real Yellow Pages℠ directories begin delivery this week. As new phone books show up at the doorsteps of homes or businesses, people are encouraged to recycle old ones.
Old phone directories will be accepted at seven different locations in Amarillo March 7 through May 9:
- City Recycling Center at SE 27th & Hayes
- Wal-Mart at I-40 & Grand
- Wal-Mart at I-27 & Georgia
- Wal-Mart at Coulter & 45th
- Wal-Mart at Amarillo Blvd. & Tascosa Rd.
- Sam’s Club at 2201 Ross-Osage Dr.
- Hastings/River Rd. Recycling Site (West of Fire Station # 4)
The City of Amarillo provides green roll-off containers at these locations to reduce the volume of phone books going to the landfill. Please do not place any plastic bags or other foreign debris in these containers as it could hinder recycling efforts.
This year’s phone book recycling is a joint effort between the City of Amarillo and YP, the largest local search and advertising company in the United States and publisher of the Amarillo YP Real Yellow Pages℠ directory. To order extra directories or stop delivery for next year, visit www.YellowPagesOptOut.com or call 1-866-329-7118. The opt-out contact information is also listed in the delivered phone directories. The site is free and information provided through the site will not be shared with anyone other than directory publishers for the purpose of updating distribution lists.
