Customers are required to:

  • Fill out an application for service
  • Sign a service contract
  • Pay a security deposit for water, sewer, and/or solid waste disposal accounts

Security Deposit

The Amarillo Municipal Code requires a utility security deposit from each customer before service is established. For residential service a minimum deposit of thirty-five dollars ($35.00) is required. For commercial service a sum equal to twice the average monthly billing is required. The deposit will be applied to the customer’s final bill when services are discontinued.  A one-time service charge fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) will be added to the first months bill.
