Airport Expansion Project The City of Amarillo is currently underway with a project to further
develop the air terminal building complex at Rick Husband Amarillo
International Airport by:
Improving the aircraft taxi apron with
duel taxi lanes, proper clearance, and proper drainage
Remodeling and renovating
approximately 18,300 square feet of the existing terminal building
Constructing an airside, compact
terminal addition to house five aircraft gate positions plus two future
expansion gates
Centralizing and consolidating the
passenger security screening area.
Demolishing the existing concourses 20
and 30.
This project is currently scheduled to
break ground in the fall of 2007 and be completed by late spring, early
summer of 2009.
