Amarillo/Potter/Randall Office of Emergency Management

The Amarillo/Potter/Randall Office of Emergency Management is an inter-jurisdictional agency coordinating the emergency management program for approximately 220,000 citizens living in the City of Amarillo, Potter County, and Randall County, Texas. The goal of the inter-jurisdictional program is to conduct a comprehensive emergency management program that includes the mitigation/prevention of, preparedness for, response to, and recovery from all-hazards (natural, man-made, or technological) that threaten the Texas Panhandle.  Our program is rated at the advanced level by the Governor's Division of Emergency Management (GDEM) and is fully NIMS compliant.

Individual and Family Preparedness
 
A community emergency management program is only as good as the preparedness of its citizens.  Make emergency preparedness a priority for you and your family.  There are a number of simple actions that you and your family can take to better prepare for a potential emergency:

1.  Make a family communications and emergency plan.
2.  Build an emergency preparedness kit.
3.  Get trained in basic first aid and CPR.
4.  Volunteer to assist in time of disaster.
